One thing is for sure,,, David Brunicardi knows how to make up stories!
A fine collection of short stories that adeptly pull you in and take you for a ride into alternate universes and dark reflections of ourselves. Each story is unique but all share Brunicardi's engaging style that does a fine job of setting the hook and building up to a crafty conclusion. Easy to pick up and hard to put down. Summer reading at its best.
Brunicardi keeps you wondering as he weaves his tales. A well written,evocative, quick read with many twists and turns!
The book starts with my favorite story of the bunch, "Terrarium", a story which sets the mood of the volume. Dark and haunting, but with an awesome attention to detail in description of the scene. These stories truly feel like they are transporting you to their world which, while alluring in some regards, is a terrifying prospect in others. I read the whole thing in one sitting, could not put it down. Would definitely recommend picking it up, Brunicardi is a great storyteller.
I highly recommend this book to all those who love to go down the road less traveled! Each story unfolds with unexpected twists and turns that leave you wanting to know what will be happen around the next corner. Brunicardi's descriptive writing brings intriguing characters, places, and events to life and leads you to places otherworldly. Through a mix of the real and imaginary the experiences various characters encounter can leave you thinking about a story far after you read it. Give this book a try. You won't be disappointed!
